Key Outcomes and Highlights

  • Agreed Conclusions: CSW66 culminated in the adoption of the first-ever set of agreed conclusions that specifically address the intersection of gender equality and climate change. These conclusions emphasize the critical role of women and girls in climate action and the necessity of their full, equal, and meaningful participation in environmental decision-making processes. It called for increased gender-responsive financing, support for women-led initiatives, and the collection of sex-disaggregated data to inform effective climate strategies.

  • Hybrid Participation: In response to the ongoing pandemic, CSW66 adopted a hybrid format, combining in-person meetings with virtual events. This approach facilitated broader participation from global stakeholders, including civil society organizations and non-governmental organizations. Graduate Women International (GWI)
